I've been a huge Wonder Woman since I was 4 years old (which actually means, a LONG time) and I've passed down my W.W. fascination to my 3 year old daughter. She was VERY happy when she received this book on her birthday and we've read it about 15 times in two weeks. This story is about Wonder Woman and Batgirl fighting against Poison Ivy in a Gotham City Botanical Garden. These characters are a great example for young girls that women can be just as feminine as Disney Princesses but also strong and powerful at the same time. Although this is a story that really encourages girl power (there aren't any male characters in the story), my 6 year old son really enjoys this book as well. This is a fun story that's full of silly puns that my daughter thinks are hilarious and the illustrations are adorable. I highly, highly recommend this book to both girls and boys.
My daughter's been curious about superheroes lately, so I was so excited to hear about this book. It did not disappoint! I loved the stylized illustrations, the cute, simple plot, and most of all-- Wonder Woman and Batgirl! It's almost impossible to find them in anything, let alone something a four-year-old would like. She adores this story, and I'm so glad I bought it!Hey DC, a couple more like this would be awesome!
I bought this for my three-year-old as it seemed like a suitably low violence way to introduce her to superheroes like Wonder Woman and Batgirl. She loves it and I was surprised to find that my husband and I actually enjoyed this as well! The humor in this book is campy and definitely more in the line with the quirky humor of the 1960s Batman tv show. I would love to find more kids' books like this that provide both an interesting story for the child hearing it and some quiet laughs for the adult reading it.
The book is perfect for 3-6 year olds ( or older). The illustrations are age appropriate. The fact that batgirl is friends with Wonder Woman was well liked by my daughter ( 3.5 year old). As we read the book, I emphasized on helpfulness and kindness.
This is cute. With the new girls DC superheroes being popular, I thought my daughter would enjoy this. Interestingly, in the movie - Poison Ivy is a good superhero and in this book she is a villain. That was a little confusion for my 5 year old. But still cute story and illustrations. And of course the sentiment of being a little golden book
For being a Little Golden Book it has a lot of advanced words depending on the age you're reading it too, and I like that. There are also several puns in the book that I've had to explain to my three year old. That said my three year old now says "We're gonna nip your plans in the bud" quite often.
We love Little Golden books! Our daughter has just discovered super heroes and these are excellent age-appropriate stories to help develop her interest!
My daughter was Bat Girl for Halloween 2015 and the Pre-School wanted the children to wear their costumes and bring in a book with their character that could be read at circle time. I found this on Amazon and was very pleased. In this book, Poison Ivy is causing trouble and Wonder Woman and Bat Girl save the day.
